State Parks Education
Education program at Makoshika State Park.
Indian Education
- Montana State Parks partnered with the Office of Public Instruction to develop 25 lesson plans. These guides can be used in the classroom or in the State Parks and assist educators meeting Montana’s Indian Education for All standards.
Interpretive Centers and Exhibits
- Montana State Park Interpretive Centers are the “storybooks” of the State Park system. Through a combination of exhibits and programs, parks come alive; the significant events, interesting features, and stories of people that passed through these places are revealed, enhancing your understanding of the park.
State Parks Poster Contest
- This annual contest is open to any Montana student in the 5th grade. It is a great way to connect students with the historical, cultural and natural resources of Montana. Contest winners receive prizes; a chance to visit the state capitol for an awards ceremony; and State Parks will pay the transportation costs for the first place winner’s entire class to visit the state park of their choice.
