Rehabilitation Facility

The Montana Wildlife Center is a temporary home to Montana's orphaned wild mammals. These animals receive a second chance to be wild again. This facility is not a zoo; therefore, viewing is limited to close circuit monitors. The center’s goal is to keep the animals wild so that a successful release is possible.

CWD notice.

CWD Notice

With the potential to spread Chronic Wasting Disease across Montana, the Wildlife Center no longer accepts deer fawns, elk and moose calves. Chronic Wasting Disease is a fatal disease of the central nervous system of captive and free-ranging mule deer, white-tailed deer, and Rocky Mountain elk. The disease belongs to a group of diseases called transmissible spongiform encephalapathies (TSEs) that are not fully understood. For more information, visit FWP's Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Q&A web page.
