Celebrate 7th Annual Kid's Fishing Day In Helena

Helena area kids can look forward to another afternoon of fun in the sun with free fishing and water safety instruction, food and demonstrations on the Capitol lawn at Montana and 6th Ave. Thursday, July 19, from 1-4 p.m. Adult instructors will be on hand to teach casting, knot tying, water safety, identification of fish and aquatic insects, and to do fly tying demonstrations. Free juice and hot dogs will help youngsters keep their energy high as they move from station to station, learning from the pros everything they need to know to be Montana’s next generation of avid anglers. The annual event is sponsored by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Montana Safe Kids, Walleyes Unlimited, McDonald’s and County Market.For more information call FWP at 444-2535.
