Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Announces Kids' Waterfowl Days

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will co-sponsor the 2002 Waterfowl Days for youth at the Sun River Skeet Club in Great Falls, Sept. 14-15, 9 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. each day. The two, day-long workshops are for youth 12-15 years of age who have successfully completed a Montana Hunter Education course and who have all the proper waterfowl hunting licenses and written permission from a parent or guardian. Youth from around the state are welcome.

Workshop topics include hunting safety, ethics and traditions, rules and regulations, shooting skills and judging distance, and using and retrieving hunting equipment. Ammunition will be provided, as well as some guns. Youths are encouraged to bring steel-shot compatible shotguns. Youngsters will receive two free rounds of skeet plus a free Ducks Unlimited Greenwing membership.

Registration forms are available at Scheels All Sports, Big Bear Sports Center and the Great Falls FWP office. Other Great Falls event sponsors include the Sun River Skeet Club; Ducks Unlimited; USFWS-Benton Lake National Wildlife Refuge; Big Bear Sports Center; Bison Ford; Golden Triangle Sporting Dog Club; Scheels All Sports and City Chevrolet.
