Women interested in hunting deer or elk this fall are invited to attend an educational clinic sponsored by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks.

The Deer and Elk Hunting Clinic will be Friday evening through Sunday noon, Oct. 15 - 17 near Charlo.   Participants will learn about deer biology and habitat, hunting techniques and equipment, hunting regulations, and field dressing.

The class will include a tour of elk and deer habitat with a wildlife biologist; an orientation to the necessary equipment and gear; discussion and practice of hunting techniques; information from a game warden on hunting regulations, buying licenses and how to properly attach your tag; and experience field dressing, butchering, and packaging the meat.

The clinics are an extension of the Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program sponsored by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks.   For fees and registration information contact Liz Lodman by mail: FWP, P.O. Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620-0701; email: llodman@state.mt.us ; or phone: 406-444-2615.   Partial scholarships are available.
