Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet Jan. 17 at the FWP Helena Headquarters, 1420 East 6 th Ave, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The FWP Commission will make a final decision on accepting the proposed Sauerkraut-Willow Creeks conservation easement, part of a community-driven initiative to conserve approximately 88,000 acres of private land in the Blackfoot River Basin. It will also be asked to adopt the Flathead Reservation Fish & Wildlife Board’s fee of $12 for the Flathead Lake combined-use fishing permit for the 2008-2009 regulation year.

The Commission will consider a tentative quota of three nestling peregrine falcons that may be taken from the wild to train for the sport of falconry, and it will hear a presentation on FWP’s budget and legislative priorities for the year.

At 10 a.m. executives from Cabela’s will make a presentation on their involvement with land sales in Montana and their corporate policies related to public access.

During a work session later in the morning, updates will be presented on grizzly bears, season extensions and management hunts, and the Access Montana program.
