FWP offers intern program for Montana college students

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is again offering students currently attending a Montana college an opportunity to gain practical experience in their field of study by serving as interns for the agency.

The student applies what they have learned in college to the world of work. Through this learning experience the student usually received academic credit and a grade while completing practicum requirements.

The intern program has proven itself to be very beneficial to the agency. Many special projects have been completed by energetic, highly qualified students eager to put their skills and knowledge to work in a position relating to their career interests. College students are urged to contact their career placement offices immediately for current postings of announcements or visit FWP’s website at www.fwp.mt.gov and click on “Employment Opportunities” listed on the home page under Online Services.

Work duration, wages, housing availability, work location and application deadlines vary with each position so students must read the announcements carefully before applying. For more information or questions, contact FWP’s statewide intern coordinator Debbie Cheek at (406) 439-8299.
