FWP Offers Boating Class in Bozeman on July 2

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will offer a boating education class on Wednesday, July 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the FWP office in Bozeman (1400 S. 19 th Ave.).

 

The class will include an overview of boating safety, equipment requirements, and the rules of safe operation. Participants must pre-register and read the boating manual prior to the class.

 

Montana law requires youth aged 13 and 14 years old to pass a boating safety course in order to operate a motorboat or personal watercraft without an adult on board.

 

Those who successfully complete the class and a related test will receive a boating certificate. A student must be at least 12 years old to register for the class. A parent or guardian must accompany students under the age of 16.

 

The class is free of charge. To register and receive a packet with the boating manual, call the FWP office in Bozeman at 406-994-4042 or visit the office at 1400 S. 19 th Ave. Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
