Learn about life in Montana’s Upper Missouri River basin during the 1880s at Salmon Lake State Park on Saturday, July 26. The program starts at 8 p.m. at the state park, 10 miles south of Seeley Lake just off Highway 83. Mother-daughter team Nellie Boyd and Ruth Short Bull will tell a cultural story of Montana’s past by incorporating histories of four American Indian tribes. The presentation will incorporate songs, artifacts, traditional games and stories to tell the story of women living during the early 1800s in the Upper Missouri. The program is free. Admission to state parks is free for Montana residents, however park fees apply to non-residents. The state park will also host programs on Saturday evenings in August including Milltown Dam on Aug. 2, Aquatic Invasive Species in Aug. 9, Archaeology on Aug. 16, and Wolverines in Glacier on Aug. 23.
