Hunter Education Classes Scheduled for Belgrade, Bozeman, Livingston, and Butte

The dates are set for fall hunter education classes in Belgrade, Bozeman, Livingston, and Butte. The schedules are as follows:

 

Belgrade Pre-registration for the Belgrade class will be on Thursday, Sept. 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Belgrade Intermediate School Cafeteria (421 Spooner Rd.). The class will take place Sept. 8-12 from 7-9 p.m. at the Belgrade Intermediate School with a field day on Sept. 13 at the Logan Range. Pre-registration is required and students under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information, contact George or Bonnie Clement at 406-388-0655.

 

Bozeman Pre-registration for the Bozeman class will be held on Thursday, Sept. 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. at FWP’s regional office in Bozeman (1400 South 19 th Ave.). The class will take place Sept. 15-19 from 7-9 p.m. at Bozeman High School with a field day on Sept. 20 at the Logan Range. Pre-registration is required and students under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information, contact Jim or Holly Johnson at 406-582-1402.

 

Livingston Pre-registration for the Livingston class will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. at Yellowstone Gateway Sports in Livingston (1106 West Park #22). The deadline to register for this class is Sept. 12. The class will take place Sept. 15-18 from 6-9 p.m. at the Livingston Elks Lodge with a field day on Sept. 20 at the Park County Rod and Gun Club. Pre-registration is required and students under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Butte Pre-registration for the Butte class will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Butte High School (401 S. Wyoming Street). The class will take place Sept. 22-26 from 6:30-9 p.m. at Butte High School with a field day on Sept. 28 at the Rocker Gun Range. Pre-registration is required and students under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information, contact Don Davis at 406-723-5350.

 

FWP-certified instructors will conduct the classes. Any person born after January 1, 1985, must present a Hunter Education Certificate in order to purchase a hunting license in Montana. A student must be 11 years old to receive certification.

 

The Breakfast Optimist Club of Bozeman also sponsors the Belgrade and Bozeman classes.
