Shooting Grants Awarded to Dagmar and Medicine Lake Gun Clubs

The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife & Parks is providing two Eastern Montana clubs with Shooting Range Development Grants.

The first recipient is the Medicine Lake Trap Club. This grant will provide $4,317 in partial funding towards the installment of a new electrical system and heater and replacement of a trap house, concrete pad and sidewalks.

The other recipient is the Pioneer Gun Club, located in the unincorporated Sheridan County community of Dagmar .   This project will provide $14,000 in partial funding towards replacement of a trap house and purchase of an automated thrower and voice command unit.

The funding decisions follow the completion of environmental assessments and public comment periods for each project. Anyone with questions about the funding can contact Kurt Cunningham in Helena at (406) 444-1267.
