The day-use area at Salmon Lake State Park will close for the season on Tuesday, Sept. 23 so that construction work can begin at the park, however, the Salmon Lake campground will remain open through Sept. 30. Construction planned for the park this fall includes paving the day-use interior road system and parking areas, widening the boat loading area, and improving the boat and swimming docks. Boaters can use a primitive boat launch that is located just off Highway 83 north of the park while the day-use area is closed. The paving and improvement projects will be completed this fall, and the park will reopen on its normal spring opening date—May 1, 2009.
