Bear Facts
Prevention is far better than confrontation!
Black bears are usually solitary animals
that are most active at dusk and dawn.
Black bears are omnivorous and will eat
almost anything available, but their diets
are composed mostly of vegetation.
Black bears breed in late May and early
June and the female gives birth to 1-3
cubs between late December and early
February.
Remember: A Fed Bear Is a Dead Bear.
